  • A certificate of a negative PCR test administered not more than 7 days prior to the date of embarkation
  • A valid air ticket to Mauritius
  • A proof of purchase of a travel package including accommodation, on full board basis, at a designated hotel for a mandatory 14-day in-room quarantine

When booking through any of our sales channels, kindly ensure that your e-mail and mobile number are provided so that we may communicate to you on updates relevant to your trip.

Attention is drawn to the fact that:
  • Any arriving passenger will have to undergo PCR tests on day of arrival, on day 7 and on day 14 following arrival
  • If a PCR test reveals that a person is COVID-19 positive, he/she shall be transferred to a public medical institution for treatment

PCR COVID-19 Test Certificate

Passengers must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test not more than 7 days before travelling. Only passengers whose tests are negative will be allowed to board flights to Mauritius. The original PCR COVID-19 certificate must be presented at check-in, boarding and upon arrival.

Quarantine Accommodation Package

Upon arrival in Mauritius, a 14-day in-room quarantine will be mandatory in a hotel approved by the authorities. A quarantine accommodation package is available online for passengers which would include, among others, accommodation on a full board basis for the 14-day in room quarantine.

For information on the available Quarantine Accommodation Package, please consult the central booking platform on the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) website:

Sanitary measures

The sanitary safety of travellers and of the Mauritian public is a topmost priority. Protocols following international best practice will be in force on board the aircraft, at the airport, for airport transfers, at quarantine locations and thereafter at hotels and all other public places.

Information on how to prepare for your travel and about Air Mauritius health and safety measures is available on:

https://www.airmauritius.com/covid-19-update/travel-information/prepare-for-your-travel

Passengers will also be subject to temperature checks at the airport of departure and at the airport of arrival.

Baggage

Information on your baggage allowance is included on your ticket.

  • Cabin baggage is limited to one piece weighing not more than 7 kg
  • To help limit contact between carry-on baggage items, your cabin baggage should include only the necessary essential items such as laptops, handbag, briefcase, and baby items
  • Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 kg will be accepted at check in
  • Should you be a Kestrelflyer Gold or Silver cardholder, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20 kg on presentation of your membership card

At the airport of departure

With all the health safety and precautionary measures in place, the check-in and boarding processes are expected to take longer. Passengers are therefore advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled flight departure time.

Wearing of masks

It is mandatory for all passengers above 11 years old to wear only surgical masks from the time they reach the airport of departure to the time they leave SSR International airport which includes boarding, the entire flight and deplaning.

Typically, you should provide for one mask for every 4 hours. Please ensure that you carry a sufficient number of masks for the entire duration of your flight, from the time you reach the airport of departure to the time you leave SSR International airport.

Passengers who do not fulfil all the requirements above will not be allowed to board flights to Mauritius.

Onboard

  • Passengers are requested to adhere to strict sanitary hygiene onboard
  • Used masks should not be left in seat pockets, on the seats or anywhere else in the cabin. Same should be disposed of in the lavatory waste bins only or be kept in your bag

COVID-19 Protocol in Mauritius

Air Mauritius wishes to reassure its passengers and the public in general that the company fully complies with the COVID-19 protocol in force in Mauritius and has implemented strict sanitary measures accordingly at all touch points.
